Herb Fineday is a 12yr veteran of the Fond du Lac police department. I started in January of 2000 after graduating from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center; Indian Police Academy. I am currently an Investigator. I am not assigned to a division, so I will investigate all crimes. During my tenure I have the positions of patrolman, sergeant and Chief of Police. I am also a field training officer and the department's Use of Force instructor. As the departments instructor I will track and trend what "hands on" uses of force work and what doesn't work. That tracking was vital in the department’s current use of force policy. Our policy now is the 4th amendment. Outside of FDL PD, I am an active member of the Fond du Lac Reservation. I am on many boards and I am active volunteer. I also completed the Native Nations Rebuilder program (https://www.nativegov.org/rebuilders/). This program has helped me strengthen my leadership and knowledge of Nation Building in Indian Country. I also work part-time with the Fond du Lac tribal and community college as a recruiter/mentor.
