This presentation is an informational and interactive presentation on who the transgender community are, what the challenges are for a transgender individuals, and how Law Enforcement and other Criminal Justice practitioners can strengthen the relationship between this community and themselves.  Recent Medical, Biological and Genetic information and research will give an insight into the many challenges faced by both CJ providers and transgender individuals when interacting with the Courts, Legal System and Police and Correctional providers.  Insight provided into these challenges by this presentation will hopefully will foster discussion and understanding.

A. A knowledge of most recent medical, biological and genetic research on the transgender person(s).

B. A knowledge of the special concerns of the Transgender Community and the CJ Community and workable solutions to them.
