Approximately 100,000 children testify a year in the Unites States.  It is scary and difficult. Prosecutors and advocates can help minimize the trauma by preparing both the child and the court for each child’s testimony. Learn about courtroom tactics, interview methods, and motions that can be made to assist the child testify.  This presentation will not just focus on young children, but will also address how to handle the more difficult cases; teenagers. Lastly, the presentation will address how important it is that as a prosecutor, social worker, or advocate, you learn to take care of yourself. The presentation is geared towards attorneys, social workers, nurses, and advocates with 0-5 years’ experience.
